At Memory Lane Day Centre, we’re lucky to have a beautiful private garden that overlooks the peaceful Yeadon Tarn. Over the years, however, the garden had sadly fallen into disrepair. By 2024, the wood was completely rotten, and the once-vibrant space needed a full makeover.
That’s when Memory Lane Trust CIC reached out for support and thankfully, help arrived in the form of a wonderful woman named Kate Williams from Just Desserts Shipley.
Kate rallied her team, and two incredible women, Jess Vanston and Chloe Woolley, stepped up to organise a fantastic fundraiser: a “Race Night.” The event was a huge success, raising an incredible £1,205 – a truly generous amount that made a world of difference.
Thanks to their efforts, the funds were donated to Memory Lane Trust CIC and used to completely transform the garden. The makeover included new woodwork, planters, fresh soil, a water fountain, skip hire, paint, and beautiful new plants.
We’re absolutely thrilled with the results and so grateful to everyone involved. A heartfelt thank you to Just Desserts Shipley for your kindness, energy, and generosity – we can’t thank you enough.
We’d also like to give a special shoutout to Alpha Renovations, who generously donated their time to help remove the old structure and rebuild the garden. Your hard work means the world to us.
Thanks to this amazing community effort, our garden is once again a beautiful, peaceful space for everyone to enjoy.
